Mr. Funnell is the President of Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center which encompasses five campuses across central Indiana. In this role, he has leadership responsibility for the clinical operations and financial performance of a $1.9B oncology product line, which is accredited by ACoS, CoC. He is also responsible for developing and deploying the strategic vision of the oncology program throughout Indiana. Prior to joining Community Health Network in 2021, Mr. Funnell served as the vice president responsible for West Virginia University’s Cancer Signature Program and regional cancer network. He has also served as the chief administrative officer for the cancer service line at Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center, one of 72 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers, located in Philadelphia, PA. He has served in various executive and administrative roles at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, the Johns Hopkins Health System in Baltimore, Maryland, and at University Hospital S.U.N.Y. @ Stony Brook on Long Island, New York.

Mr. Funnell holds a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is certified as a medical practice executive by the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
