Decker
Mary earned a bachelor's degree in English and History/Political Science from the University of Jamestown, a Bachelors of Arts in Nursing from the College of St. Scholastica and a Master’s in Nursing Education from Walden University. Mary has worked as both a bedside nurse and nurse leader for the last 18 years, with much of her practice involving Care Management.
Her clinical roles have taken her to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and the Allina Health System in Minnesota and, most recently, to Eugene, Oregon where she is hospital Director of Care Management and Interim Director of Emergency Services.
Mary has a passion for education and learning. Seeing young people’s curiosity and talents met with praise and support is one of her greatest joys. She has participated in volunteer opportunities as a big sister in the Big Brother, Big Sister program, promoted and participated in opportunities for teen girls in STEM related fields through AAUW and mentoring youth in the community through 1:1 and group activities.
She lives in Eugene, OR with her cats, Margo and Mateo. Mary loves watching sports, reading, walking and keeping with her 5 amazing nephews as they explore the world.
