Angela Nelson, a dedicated advocate from Flint, Michigan, holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and an MBA in Integrative Management. With a diverse career spanning IT, grant-making, community relations, and marketing, she is currently the Vice President of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Travel Portland.

 

In her role, Angela collaborates with sales and marketing teams to promote destinations known for their warm and multicultural embrace. Beyond work, she values family time, and has traveled to over 20 countries, with a special affinity for Africa.

 

Angela's passion for serving others extends to her involvement in local, regional, national, and international boards. She contributes to organizations like Opening Villages Doors Foundation, Black Business Association of Oregon, Destinations International Foundation, and UNCF Portland Leadership Council. Angela is also the immediate past president of the Grand Rapids Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

 

Her unwavering dedication to making a difference and fostering inclusivity defines Angela's impact. She believes the best is yet to come, driving her forward to create a more equitable and diverse world.
